“If God had wanted us to vote, he would have given us candidates.”
Recently, along with some of the other organizers of our local Tea Party, I was invited to participate in a radio interview in which we could submit 10 possible questions to be asked. What a rare opportunity!
The following is my list of questions and possible answers. Actually, the answers may be too long for quick interview. Anyway, I’m posting this on the blog because it may offer some small smattering of assistance to others in a similar circumstance and/or to those who simply want to reflect on their recent Tea Party.
Q1. How did these recent Tea Parties get started?
These current rallies began with bloggers in Seattle, WA, who organized a demonstration on February 16. Word spread quickly with protests in Denver and Mesa, AZ spontaneously organized for the next day. Then on CNBC (February 19), Rick Santelli called for a “Chicago Tea Party” on July Fourth.
Many folks, however, didn’t want to wait that long to express their anger toward trillion dollar budgets, 10 trillion dollar deficits, ever-expanding government, and the inevitable, massive tax increases to pay for it all. A few dozen more rallies were held in March.
Then … without any involvement from any political party or any central authority, Tea Parties began to organize for Tax Day through word-of-mouth and Internet communication.
Q2. Are these current Tea Party protests partisan in nature?
There are many folks across our great nation who are fed up. These protests are representative of a large segment of our population who have, in fact, been the silent majority. We are no longer silent. We SHALL be heard.
If you are a politician who voted for these bailouts and earmarks, consider these Tea Parties YOUR going away party.
These Tax Day Tea Parties are part of a nationwide initiative to protest Big Government Spending. The rallies began with bloggers in Seattle, WA, who organized a demonstration on February 16.
Several more protests took place in March. More than 4,000 each attended the Cincinnati, Kansas City, and Orlando Tea Parties.
Despite this growing grassroots message to our federal government, the MSM refused to cover the scores of events. Then, without any involvement from any political party or any central authority, Tea Parties began to organize for Tax Day through word-of-mouth and Internet communication.
The second wave of Tea Party Protests is rapidly approaching. Currently, more than 2000 Tax Day Tea Parties are scheduled for April 15th, in cities large and small, coast to coast. These patriotic gatherings will range in size from a few dozen to as many as 10,000 in larger cities.
While many of us are beginning to plan the day and make our signs, a lot of folks are looking for ideas for their slogan. We’ve explored every nook and cranny of the world wide web culling through endless photos of signs from the numerous protests in March to bring you some of the very best slogan ideas.
In OPEN defiance of the OVERWHELMING will of the people, DC continues to ignore US about ending the ongoing bailouts using OUR money, about ending the countless earmarks using OUR money, about protecting OUR borders, and so on. And, now they want to run the banking industry, the energy industry, the health care industry, AND the automotive industry. President Obama just FIRED Rick Wagoner, the CEO of General Motors, a few days ago.
This is the SAME government that runs Social Security, Medicare, Amtrack, and the Post Office … ALL at year-after-year financial losses. This year alone, the U.S. Postal Service faces more than SIX BILLION dollars in debt.
It’s time STOP the wanton spending sprees in DC with OUR grand-children’s money! And, it’s time to STOP these ‘non-representing representatives’ from attempting to take CONTROL of business after business in OUR country.
As an unsettling discontent is swelling across our great nation, I’m reminded of the closing words of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, “a government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”
His resolute celebration of liberty has come to symbolize the very definition of democracy itself. Yet, who among us today could muster the fatuous optimism to rally truthfully that this founding creed is practiced by our elected representatives in DC?
Shouldn’t government authority be derived from the consent of the governed? Shouldn’t our elected representatives … represent us? Some issues that confront us as a nation transcend political parties. (read this entire post…)
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, ‘Common Sense’, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
why the early bird gets the worm;
life isn’t always fair;
and, maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). (read this entire post…)
Do you wonder which direction our country is headed with all of these bailouts, handouts, and loans to big businesses from our representatives in DC?
Isn’t it time that government authority be derived from the consent of the governed … from we, the people?
Are you aware of the hundreds of Tea Party protests taking place around the nation and the ones planned for April 15? Are you aware of Glenn Beck’s ‘We Surround Them’ movement? Every day, more and more concerned Americans join these constructive activities.
We are so inspired by these patriotic Americans and so disappointed with the ongoing disregard for its citizens that our federal government is displaying that we started a monthly newsletter.
Common Sense 2020 is an entertaining expression of what Thomas Paine, the Father of the American Revolution, might discuss if he were around today. He might even call many of these folks in DC today ‘non-representing representatives’.
The articles inside our premier issue include:
+ We, The People, Take Our Nation Back
+ Who Wants Gun Control?
+ Who Was Thomas Paine?
+ New Tax Exemption?
+ What is an American?

At the end of this eventful year, I’d like to thank you for visiting this blog the last couple of months. It has been a delight to have researched and written these conservative-leaning posts. But, the endeavors have usurped a large amount of my time from other duties and responsibilities.
Moreover, unpublished research is leading me to anticipate a series of events for the upcoming year which consume me with dread at the thought of ongoing research. Below, you’ll find my predictions for 2009. You may want to save this article as a time-stamped MHT or PDF for comparison one year from now. You could also save it as a browser bookmark. Most of us just don’t have the time to give even a cursory perusal to the abundance of conservative commentary and news, so we’re helping with the quest. Each Sunday we highlight issues and headlines from the week, commented by established political pundits.
According to two private, nonpartisan organizations, some of the major corporations that received enormous sums in bailout funds and loans had just donated large amounts of money to the Democratic and Republican conventions weeks before coming to Washington to beg for their taxpayer-funded handouts.
These include American International Group (AIG), Citigroup, Ford Motor Company, Freddie Mac, General Motors Corporation, and Goldman Sachs. In all, big businesses, labor unions, and individual millionaires donated $118 million into the nominating conventions for Barack Obama and John McCain. The Democratic convention in Denver received $61 million and the Republican one in Minneapolis-St. Paul got $57 million.
A Brief Overview of YouTube …
The domain name “YouTube.com” was activated on February 15, 2005; the company was founded by Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. The angel-funded enterprise offered their first public preview of the site in May 2005. They made their official debut that November. Bandwidth costs and potential advertising profits inspired a venture capitalist, Sequoia Capital, to get involved.
Within six months, YouTube was one of the fastest growing websites on the Web and was ranked the 5th most popular website on Alexa. More than 100 million video clips were viewed daily on YouTube, with an additional 65,000 new videos uploaded every 24 hours.
We reported 30 days ago that gun sales were soaring across the nation. Firearms and ammunition sales continue to boom. A simple Google News search for “gun sales are up” or “gun sales soaring” reveals numerous recent stories concerning this race beat the inauguration. While many retailers are struggling to break even this holiday season, business has been booming for gun dealers and warehouse distributors nationwide (up 42%).
On Al-Nas TV (Egypt) on November 27, Cleric Hassan Abu Al-Ashbal demanded that Barack Hussein Obama convert to Islam (video below). He declared that Obama is “like the Byzantine leaders in the days of Prophet Muhammad.” He continued, “If you want glory; you will find it in Islam. If you want honor; you will find it in Islam … especially since you have some kind of roots in Islam.”
He concluded with this blatant threat to the President-elect,
Know, Obama, that America, with all its size and might, will know no peace, as long as a single Muslim child lacks food, drink, medicine, or housing. If you refuse, Obama, and insist on remaining in Muslim lands, know that Allah still plants in Muslims obedience to Him and they are willing to wait for Paradise which is closer than their own shoelaces.
Know, Obama, that in the lands of Islam, there are people who seek death, and are eager for it, even more than you and your people are eager for life.”
Of the more than one dozen court cases challenging Barack Obama’s citizenship and eligibility to become President, three cases are at the forefront of the grassroots movement by concerned Americans. This is not a partisan or a racial issue; it is about the constitutional qualifications to be eligible for the Presidency. Moreover, three aspects of this ongoing ordeal are most astonishing.
First is that most of the lower court cases have been dismissed due to the plaintiff’s lack of standing, ie, ordinary citizens have no right to question a Presidential candidate’s eligibility. Second is that Obama and the DNC have spent almost one million dollars in legal fees to prevent the candidate from having to reveal his original birth certificate. Third is the fact that Obama likewise refuses to release numerous relevant documents and records that should be innocuous (Occidental College records, Columbia College records, Columbia Thesis paper, Harvard College records, Law Practice client list, Law Practice billing records, etc.)
Five Blackwater Worldwide guards have been told to surrender to the FBI today (2008-12-08) to face federal manslaughter and assault charges connected to the shooting deaths of 17 civilians at a traffic circle in Iraq last year. A sixth is reportedly negotiating a plea deal.
The shootings took place near Nisour Square in Baghdad on September 16, 2007.
This clip is from ABC’s Boston Legal where William Shatner plays Denny Crane, the senior and founding partner of the Crane, Poole & Schmidt law firm.
The two-hour season finale, “Made In China / Last Call” airs tonight (2008-12-08) at 9 pm EST.
We’ve started a new column this week to be published each Sunday. Most of us just don’t have the time to give even a cursory perusal to the abundance of conservative commentary and news, so we’re helping with the quest. These articles, by established political pundits, highlight issues and headlines from the week.
Newt served in Congress for 20 years, and was Speaker of the House from 1995 to 1999. He later founded the Center for Health Transformation to explore practices and solutions that are proven to improve health and lower costs.
In the latest edition of the Globe magazine that’s hitting the news stands Friday (2008-11-28), the Larry Sinclair story is front page news. The upcoming book by Larry Sinclair professes details of his relationship with Barack Obama, the President-elect’s drug usage with Sinclair, Obama’s ties to Donald Young (TUCC’s Choir Director) and his subsequent murder, and the attempts by the Obama team to stop Sinclair’s story during the campaign. Reports of the tell-all book have made their way to Obama, and he is said to be seething that this matter has not been “resolved”. (read this entire post…)
During a light rain, thousands of Icelanders demonstrated in Reykjavik on Saturday (2008-11-22) demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Geir Haarde and Central Bank Governor David Oddsson for failing to stop a financial meltdown in the country. It was the latest in an escalating series of protests in the capital over the island nation’s crippled economy.
A separate group of several hundred people gathered in front of the city’s main police station demanding the release of a young protester being held there. Police in riot gear used pepper spray to drive back the attempt to free the protester during which several windows at the police station were shattered. Five were injured. The protester was eventually released after he paid a fine for rioting. (read this entire post…)
In an interview on CNN’s Lou Dobbs, Catholic League president Bill Donohue discussed the imminent dangers of the upcoming Freedom Of Choice Act (FOCA) stating that the radical comprehensive legislation would overturn state laws on abortion and parental consent. Obama has promised to approve the legislation if it comes before his desk as President.
According to the New York Times, thousands of unsold foreign cars are sitting at U.S. ports because dealers don’t want them.
Foreign cars delivered to the port in Long Beach, California would normally be loaded onto trucks, then delivered to dealerships. But American dealerships don’t want them because they’re having a hard time selling their current inventory.
Whether you’re a news hound, a conspiracy analyst, or a conspiracy theorist you’ve probably heard of the New World Order. Maybe you’ve read bits and pieces of information concerning involvement with the NWO by the Council on Foreign Relations, the Bilderberg Group, the Trilateral Commission, the World Trade Organization, the Illuminati, and/or the Committee of 300.
Moreover, whether you believe … that there are secretive plots and nefarious machinations by uber-elitists for a One World Government, One World Financial System, population decimation, etc. … or biblical end-time prophecies … one striking concern has been prevalent in the news lately. There have been numerous public requests and discussions for a New Word Order … from around the globe. Here are just a few such recent references:
Investment professor Joy Brighton breaks the silence about more greed on Wall Street that may create another financial crisis. This eye-opening documentary reveals that the appeal for profit from Shariah Islamic Finance belies the fact that it exists because of Shariah Law.
Moreover, the Treasury Department announced Wednesday (2008-11-05) that it will teach “Islamic finance” to U.S. banking regulatory agencies, Congress, and other parts of the executive branch. (read this entire post…)
