“Merry Christmas” vs “Happy Holidays”

A new Rasmussen Reports
national telephone survey finds that 68% of American adults prefer stores to show signs saying “Merry Christmas” rather than “Happy Holidays.”

Only one-quarter of adults (25%) favor signs that say “Happy Holidays.” Those figures are virtually unchanged from their survey conducted this time last year.

Men (71%) favor “Merry Christmas” slightly more than women (65%).

In the latest edition of the Globe magazine that’s hitting the news stands Friday (2008-11-28), the Larry Sinclair story is front page news. The upcoming book by Larry Sinclair professes details of his relationship with Barack Obama, the President-elect’s drug usage with Sinclair, Obama’s ties to Donald Young (TUCC’s Choir Director) and his subsequent murder, and the attempts by the Obama team to stop Sinclair’s story during the campaign. Reports of the tell-all book have made their way to Obama, and he is said to be seething that this matter has not been “resolved”.

Limbaugh: Let’s Tax the Food Producers

On Wednesday (2008-11-26), Rush Limbaugh suggested that we apply the left’s notion of taxing oil companies to taxing food producers … “Let’s blame greedy food speculators for driving up the price of food.”

Note …
The extreme left believes that oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are greedy; but, the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t. The oil companies actually do the work of refining the crude oil; the government does not do ANY work in producing the gas.

Rezko Wants Sentencing Date

Antoin “Tony” Rezko, the central figure in a major Illinois political corruption scandal asked late Wednesday (2008-11-26) for a federal judge to set a sentencing date at the “earliest possible date”, signaling that he has ended his cooperation with prosecutors in an ongoing investigation.

The Syrian-born Rezko, who made millions of dollars as a Chicago real estate developer and fast-food entrepreneur, was a major fundraiser for Governor Rod Blagojevich, President-elect Barack Obama, and a number of other officials. He was convicted in June of using clout with the governor’s office to launch a $7 million scheme to obtain payoffs from a construction contractor and seven money management firms seeking state business.
