Overdue: Criminal Procrastination

by LukeAmerica2020
Blog hoppers, news hounds, disenchanted conservatives, and other venerable ilk … lend me an ear. For today, this enlightening day, we’ll delve into an adventure of discovery elucidating the poignant consequences of the runaway collapse of morality in western culture. Yes; that ineffable vice of which I dare to speak is none other than pernicious procrastination … and its far-reaching detriment to our center-right nation.

Now before you relegate my pungent distress to the scatological realm of male bovine excrement, allow me to assert two rebuttals at this juncture. First, I am not afflicted with Bidenesque rhetorical flourishes. Second, and more importantly, powered with an online thesaurus I can hurl salvos of adjectives at you faster than a ravenous cheetah.

So … if you even entertain the notion of clicking away right now to another site, I will follow you … I’ll stalk your fatuous, compulsive browsing to each and every site you visit … until the end of time. Okay; just kidding. Please … please don’t wantonly besmirch my wholesome character or my keen wordsmithing hyperbole in public like a shameless MSNBC commentator. Or, in the new vernacular of the street, “Yo bro, don’t Palinize me!”

Okay. No doubt, you’re still coping with the five bereavement steps due to this shocking political loss. This year’s grueling quadrennial cataclysm has left many of us emotionally numb scratching our heads … and still others speculating derisive hindsight on McCain, Palin, and Bush. However, I implore your sense of decency, don’t fall into this trap. Leave them alone.

Did they make mistakes? Sure, who hasn’t.

Did the mid-September economic crises shift the political winds toward Obama? Sure, to some degree, this is a factor. But, this didn’t cause the increase in elected majorities in the House, Senate, and Governorships. Remember, this democrat-controlled 110th U.S. Congress has a NINE PERCENT approval rating … and Pelosi, Reid, Frank, and Dodd (democrats all) eagerly led the dauntless charge to expedite the highly unpopular … and ludicrously ineffective bailouts … in an effort to attenuate the financial disasters they partially created. Even mainstream democrats don’t approve of the job they’re doing.

Did Obama make mistakes? Sure he did. YouTube, conservative blogs, and ubiquitous pundit sites are replete with copious examples documenting his failures.

So, what happened? Was it Republican apathy? Unlikely. Some conservatives, myself included, were more zealous than in recent years.

Here’s my hypothesis. Yes … you guessed it … we procrastinated … we did not take timely action to get our candidate elected. Many of us simply did not vote; we put it off. Most of us did not take action to encourage other like-minded citizens to vote. We did not educate undecided voters. We must look at ourselves … each of us … in the mirror. Could you have done more? Yes, you could. Did we win; no, we didn’t.

WE did not garner the unity of action that drove Obama’s campaign to victory. His compelling oration, unprecedented branding, and multi-tiered marketing clearly called democrats (and socialists) to action. Some of them took action to such an extent that they appeared to be cult-like disciples.

Our lack of action, the peril of procrastination, was made abundantly clear to me recently by an alarming incident with a colleague. Two blocks from work, he was pulled over for a very minor traffic violation. While the LEO was writing his citation, he learned that my friend was guilty of a much more serious issue. You see … there was a bench warrant for his arrest … for … incredibly … an overdue library book. He was hauled off to jail. Hours later at an expense of hundreds of dollars, he regained his freedom. Yes, that’s right; he was locked up because of an overdue library book. My own eyes perused the documentation in utter disbelief.

Soon thereafter, I researched similar heinous crimes online. It turns out that others have suffered comparable punishments for overdue library books.

In this case, Heidi Dalibor was taken away in handcuffs from her Wisconsin residence for failure to return two overdue library books. In College Station, TX, James Fox’s overdue library book bench warrant was discovered in a routine traffic stop. He was ordered to pay a $300 fine, serve one year of probation, and commit 100 hours of community service … for four books which had accrued $29 in late fees.

These jailbird bookworms paid high prices for their lack of action … for their procrastination. You can bet they’ll be returning future library books in the obligatory timely fashion!

We conservatives, in like fashion, must accept our just deserts. And, like the aforementioned procrastinators who failed to take timely action, the punishment meted out to us may appear to far exceed the gravity of our shortcoming. Further, with our country already trembling precariously close to the evil twins of economic collapse and outright socialism, we have through insufficient action elected our country’s first bona fide socialist President.

His never-ending, devout campaign pledges to give tax cuts to 95% of Americans and his many other pandering populist promises will certainly not come into fruition. My guess is that while he culls prospects for his staff and cabinet, he’ll launch a back-pedaling media blitz to lower the expectations of those who trustingly put him in office.

Otherwise, if he raises taxes on businesses and the financially successful, he will shove our economy right off the cliff post haste. These tax increases would immediately be passed along to consumers while simultaneously cutting work forces. Already, his blatant threats to punish businesses for success has sharply impacted our stock markets … the worst post election drops in over 100 years.

But, unhappy campers, life will go on. Obama and his minions of the upcoming socialist regime will carve a wide path for a Republican landslide in 2012 … just as Carter’s countless destructive polices precipitated the Reagan Revolution.

Moreover, the last two elections should have taught us a lesson. Republicans who lean too far to the left not only don’t get any significant democrat votes, they also lose conservative support. It is also well worth noting that Republicans in Congress exhibit a high propensity for compromise with Democrats on bills, issues, etc. Democrats, on the other hand, rarely compromise with their Republican counterparts.

Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Michael Steele, Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal, Ron Paul … we need a right-minded leader to take the executive branch in four years. Prove yourself now and you will have our wholehearted and united support for our upcoming victory. BTW, who is the Chairman of the RNC? Never heard of him? Who has? Big problem. Mike Duncan is an utterly anonymous party chairman. We need a replacement … maybe Michael Steele.

My fellow conservatives, let us start now to prepare for our successful recapture of the hearts and minds of mainstream America. We can not afford to defer action. We must not procrastinate.

We are overdue for a victory. To procrastinate now would be … criminal.

The far-left has had paid volunteer fake grassroots campaigns (astroturf) for years to garner support. If we are to stop our country’s slide into socialism … if we are to take back congressional seats and governorships in 2010 … we MUST take action … NOW.

Start NOW. Get active. Start true grassroots efforts in your area. Educate yourself; inspire others. Create groups of like-minded thinkers … both online and in your neighborhood. Rally together in parks and parking lots. We MUST awaken the silent majority in this country. Comment in blogs and forums; strengthen your knowledge. Study. Prepare. Take action.

Together, united, we can win the next elections. In the future, untold generations will thank us. Take action NOW.

Become a relentless patriot for true freedom and real representation … like the Boston tea party patriots of December 16, 1773. We MUST willfully focus the resolute passions of our founding fathers … we need a 21st century tea party … maybe a flurry of tea party like events across our nation … to arouse the silent majority to action … to remind our friends and neighbors that they are not alone in their utter disgust with the direction of our country during the last few years and the inevitable acceleration into socialism by Obama and his minions.

Let’s get started NOW !!!

All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing.” — Edmund Burke
