We reported 30 days ago that gun sales were soaring across the nation. Firearms and ammunition sales continue to boom. A simple Google News search for “gun sales are up” or “gun sales soaring” reveals numerous recent stories concerning this race beat the inauguration. While many retailers are struggling to break even this holiday season, business has been booming for gun dealers and warehouse distributors nationwide (up 42%).

Obama to Meet with McCain

President-elect Barack Obama will meet with Republican Senator John McCain on Monday to discuss ways they can work together. The private meeting between the former competitors will take place in Chicago at Obama’s transition headquarters.

It will be the first time the two have spoken since McCain called Obama to concede the election. In McCain’s concession speech on November 4, he promised to help his former rival address the country’s many challenges. The two will be joined by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, a McCain confidant, and Representative Rahm Emanuel, the Illinois Democrat Obama has chosen as his White House chief of staff.

Alan Keyes Files Suit Over Obama Citizenship

Presidential candidate Alan Keyes, vice-presidential candidate Wiley S. Drake, and the Chairman of the American Independent Party, Markham Robinson, have filed suit in California Superior Court in Sacramento seeking to bar Secretary of State Debra Bowen from certifying to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger the names of Electors, and from transmitting to each presidential Elector a Certificate of Election, until documentary proof is produced and verified showing that Senator Obama is a “natural born” citizen of the United States, and does not hold citizenship of Indonesia, Kenya or Great Britain.

Plans for Obama’s “Civilian Security Force”?

As reported by WorldNetDaily, the official website of President-Elect Barack Obama, Change.gov, originally announced that Obama would “require” all middle school through college students to participate in community service programs; but after a flurry of blogs protested children being drafted into Obama’s proposed youth corps, the website’s wording was softened.

Originally, under the tab “America Serves” Change.gov read:

“Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year.”

The word “require” was stricken from the website Friday (2008-11-07) and replaced with the phrase “setting a goal”. Now, it also lists tax credits toward college tuition.

Free Speech: Obama Style (part 1)

On November 4, 2008 just hours after the presidential election victory of Barack Hussein Obama, thousands of Philadelphians poured into the streets to cheer for the President-elect. Hordes of joyful Obama supporters overflowed with gleeful chanting fervor.

But when one man dared to have a differing opinion, simply by wearing a McCain/Palin ‘08 t-shirt, police officers threatened him with arrest and eventually did so. Apparently, it is now illegal in the City of Brotherly Love to be a quiet white republican. The ever-so-tolerant Obama fanatics shouted chants as the man was arrested for QUIETLY trying to use his First Amendment rights. We’ll keep you posted as similar ordeals develop in the news in the coming months.

Many locations are reporting increases ranging from 50% to 300%. The following video segment, Spike in Gun Sales, is from an ABC News broadcast on Friday (2008-11-07).

US Treasury Approves Shariah Islamic Finance

Issues looming ahead include health care, Medicare financing, energy concerns, wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, terrorism threats, unprotected borders, 30 million undocumented immigrants, and the numerous warning signs that our economy is in recession.

As crises abound, the president-elect must fill key posts with a top-notch team. And, he must put the right people in the right place expeditiously. Obama’s first personnel decision (2008-11-06) was to name U.S. Representative Rahm Emanuel as his Chief of Staff, a key position for the success of a new administration. He has a reputation of doing whatever it takes to achieve well-defined goals.
